Klopp Shares Family Anecdotes at DFB Kids Conference

The Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB) held a Kinderpressekonferenz on its campus in Frankfurt am Main. The event was attended by nine‑ to ten‑year‑old players from SG Oberlahn and Sportfreunde Sölderholz. According to Der Spiegel, the teams had won a spot in the action "Der beste Tag" through a lottery. The conference was part of the 100th edition of the program.

Bundestrainer Jürgen Klopp, 59, shared stories from his private life. He told the children about a stranger who entered his Liverpool home and ate his sweets. Klopp said the police were called after the incident. He also mentioned that his wife shops quickly because she does not need a note.

Klopp answered questions about his coaching career and said that hard work and a desire to understand the game better are key to becoming a good trainer. He refrained from revealing his favorite player or club, according to Der Spiegel. The children also received a brief training session before the Q&A.

At the end, Klopp reminded the youngsters that Germany won the World Cup in 2014 and that they should celebrate the same way. He urged them to ensure that future generations can also experience such celebrations. The event was part of a program to support youth football.
